Hill, Raymond E.
Raymond E. Hill lived his entire life in the Shippensburg vicinity.
There is very little that we know of his personnel life. He married Martha Marie Chamberlin in a single ring ceremony.
After the war Martha remarried and became Mrs. Hill-Coldsmith.

During the war he got wounded in France on August 15 earning him a Purple Heart. He returned duty and got wounded again on September 7, 1944 earning the Oak Leaf Cluster.
The third time he got wounded fatally on September 30, 1944. He died according to his IDPF due to a penetration wound on the left side of his chest.

The inscription for Raymond is on the back of his wife's stone (Martha Hill Coldsmith).

Many thanks to Sherry Wenger and Mrs. Hill Coldsmith's daughter Gloria for providing the photo's and information.
